Hola! Estoy Marisa “Mayonnaise” Jane, aka Marisa la Mariposa. I'm a 20 something college graduate working at my first job, and loving it. I’ve got the thick, dark brown, (and greasy) hair, but I’m pale as a ghost. So I guess I've got a sort of Snow White thing Going on. *Shrigs.* Mi Papa es un Engineer, and mom’s a computer programmer... I speak English and Spanglish... but not fluent Spanish.

I tend to be flippant, and a bit of a smartass. I think there's enough cryptic angst on the web without my adding to it, so in the event of my feeling angsty, rest assured either you'll know precisely what's wrong or I'll keep the angst to myself entirely. The Music for my Posts to are often relevant to the subject matter... unless I'm just telling you what I'm really listening too. You'll have to look up the lyrics on your own tho. I believe a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bike, but it doesn't stop me having a boyfriend. I speak my mind... I don’t buy into the societal constructs that are gender roles. I don’t stand for gender discrimination. I can do anything a dude can do... well anything a 5 foot, 100 pound dude could do. Cause... I’m 5 foot and 100 pounds... and I still can't open some jars. I don’t like chauvinists and I don’t like people who try to make themselves sound smarter by using big words or flowery language, without bothering to learn how to do it RIGHT.

I like art and writing and the theater, but I also have a flare for the basic tenants of science... as long as we discuss it purely in the theoretical. No me gusta la matimatica. I can’t do arithmetic to save my life... some people have a hard time reading… so they don’t read books… allot of them are damn good with numbers. Me? I’m a speed reader, and I have issues with math, so I do it only when I have to… but I still read Discover.

This is a mostly public journal, but there are times I feel a particular entry should be friends only... and then it will be... so yes, if you want access to that, post a reply on an entry, and ask nicely (I don't look at my profile often enough, and often come back to find out people friended me and I totally didn't know about it so I took forever to friend them back, so for prompt friending back, let me know you freinded me,) but please don't be offended if I choose to decline... it's not particularly LIKELY that I'll decline, but I reserve the right.

Oh and "Lyta" where you may see it in my journal, primarily refers to my old laptop computer, an IBM Thinkpad T-30, named for Lyta Alexander of Babylon 5, cause, like Lyta it's really powerful, frequently used as a tool, and goes crazy every once and a while just to remind me who's boss. The keyboard was shot for a while, particularly the "i" key, so if you see words in old entries missing a letter "i" all over the place, that's why...

And "Catalina" refers to my NEW laptop, a T-43p, named for the Crazy Genius of Space Cases, because while it's really smart, it gets most of it's information from a friend no one else can see (the web) and is well... insane *Higgles.*
